Many of us know Labor Day as the long weekend we unofficially say goodbye to summer and hello to September.
But do you know how Labor Day originated? Here is a brief history about Labor Day.
In the late 19th century as movements grew upon trade unions, so did a push for a holiday, the obviously named, Labor Day.
A day to honor the American labor movement and the workers who contributed in strengthening laws for the well-being of our country.
It first became a holiday in Oregon in 1887, the first American state to begin what would become an official federal holiday by 1894 for 30 states and now today, it is officially a day off for each state.
